FACING NOLAN a documentary of baseball legend Nolan Ryan. Out NOW and ON DEMAND July 19.



Utopia has released the Nolan Ryan documentary FACING NOLAN to theaters this week and it will be available on digital platforms on July 19th. The film charts baseball legend Nolan Ryan’s life and illustrious career told from the point of view of the hitters who faced him and the teammates who revered him, with exclusive interviews with Nolan Ryan, President George W. Bush, Craig Biggio, Steve Buechele, George Brett, Rod Carew, Roger Clemens, Tom Grieve, Tom House, Randy Johnson, Pete Rose, Ivan Rodriguez, Bobby Valentine, Dave Winfield, Bobby Witt, and many others.

The release follows a SXSW premiere at the Texas Rangers Stadium, and a successful sneak peak in May with Fathom Events, which grossed $320K in a single night and ranked #7 overall at the box office with the #3 PSA behind Dr. Strange and Downton Abbey.

UTOPIA SETS THEATRICAL ENCORE FOR NOLAN RYAN DOCUMENTARY “FACING NOLAN” The film which debuted at the 2022 Southwest Film Festival, gives viewers an intimate look at the ups and downs of Nolan’s storied 27-year career, his personal relationships with friends and family, and covers a handful of Nolan’s greatest achievements on the diamond. Nolan Ryan played for the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers. His most notable accomplishments on the field include 5,714 strike-outs, seven no-hitters, and the fastest pitch at 108.1mph. In spite of setting 51 MLB records, Nolan never won a Cy Young Award and was constantly undervalued as a player according to teammates, coaches, and journalists. Facing Nolan is directed by Bradley Jackson and produced by Russell Wayne Groves.
