SKYJACK
A High-Concept Thriller by Lizzie Fry
Available on Amazon.com
A Perfect Example of Modern IP
REVIEW – NO SPOILERS
Set in a deserted hotel-turned-fortress in the English countryside after “The Fall,” a mysterious global catastrophe that wiped out 99% of the female population, SKYJACK drops you straight into a world where survival is brutal, intimate, and deeply uncertain.
No one knows what killed the women. No one knows if it will strike again.
This is a fast-paced, immersive thriller that satisfies both literary readers and fans of visionary, high-concept storytelling.
Maddy, newly 21, is one of the rare surviving young women. Sheltered, restless, and burning with desire, she’s considered strictly off-limits as the daughter of Bill, the leader of the soldiers who guard the fort from raiders and black‑market predators hunting for women.
Narrating in first person, Maddy, nicknamed “Princess,” pulls us into her private world just as an unconscious boy in a falling parachute crashes onto the property. Is he a raider? A trap? A miracle? A threat? Her uncertainty becomes ours.

The story is tightly contained yet rich in vivid, unusual elements, including wildlife like monkeys and Silverback gorillas, that heighten the wild, primal, unpredictable atmosphere.
I admit: I’m a Lizzie Fry fan. But this is my favorite of her books I have read so far. As a screenwriter, I could instantly see SKYJACK as a TV series: a contained environment, a compelling young heroine on the verge of awakening, relentless visual action, a mysterious outsider, lust, danger, and deception.
It’s a textbook example of what screenwriters call strong Intellectual Property (IP).
The old query letter is dead. A published short book builds an audience fast and bypasses the gatekeepers.
I give SKYJACK 5 stars and a RECOMMEND.
