Character Comedian COLIN HOULT brings his Alter-Ego ANNA MANN on UK Tour

Fresh from an award-nominated, critically acclaimed, sold out run at Edinburgh Fringe, character comedian, actor and writer Colin Hoult (After Life, Cuckoo) brings his eccentric, witty, and wonderful alter-ego back into the theatres! Colin Hoult’s Anna Mann; actress, singer, welder (gotta have a backup) and siren of the stage and screen will be taking her final show The Death of Anna Mann, on tour around the UK following a smash-hit Edinburgh Festival Fringe which culminated in a Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Show nomination.

While the grief for this comic creation may be fictional – it is a prominent theme throughout this final Anna Mann show. Colin’s personal experiences of grief, (he sadly lost his brother) and how we learn to deal with it, have hugely influenced the story, themes, and comedy of this new show.

Colin Hoult is best known for starring in various projects alongside Ricky Gervais including Derek (Channel 4) After Life (Netflix) and Life’s Too Short (BBC). In After Life, Colin plays Ken Otley, the head of the local amateur dramatics company – where he was the reason Netflix was forced to step in following a performance that led to one particular demand from subscribers.

During the scene, Ken launches into one of the songs from the fictional stage version of the Martin Scorsese’s ‘Taxi Driver’, which led to the streaming service receiving so many messages, it ended up tweeting: “Please stop asking when Taxi Driver: The Musical is coming to Netflix.” Read the story here www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/after-life-3-netflix-b2000348.html

Colin’s other acting credits include Ghosts (BBC), Trying (Apple), Almost Never (CBBC), Four Weddings and a Funeral (Hulu), This Time with Alan Partridge (BBC), Being Human (BBC) and BBC3's award-winning Murder In Successville.

On stage Colin’s most famous creation is Anna Mann an acclaimed actress, singer & welder (gotta have a back-up!) This year Anna returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe after five long years to tell the incredible story of her life in the arts in this: her final hour in The Death of Anna Mann.

An absolute gift to comedy” ★★★★★ (Broadway World)

As seen as Ken Otley in Netflix’s After Life and BBC One’s This Time with Alan Partridge.

Fresh from an award-nominated, critically acclaimed, sold out run at Edinburgh Fringe, character comedian, actor and writer Colin Hoult brings his eccentric, witty, and wonderful alter-ego back into the theatres!

Five incredibly long years since her last tour, Anna Mann returns to enchant us with the tales, tribulations, and epic saga of her fabulous life in the arts, as she faces… her final moments. As the title suggests, this will quite literally be Colin’s final Anna Mann show as he puts this character to rest. “Don’t you dare cry!” – Anna Mann.

Anna Mann is the much beloved and beautifully absurd creation of one of the greatest British comedians, Colin Hoult, whose work is wonderfully crafted, satirical, and refreshing. Colin says “Anna has always been a vehicle for me to explore things affecting me in real life, from my experiences with depression, to the rise of modern-day fascism [Colin & Anna’s 2017 show ‘How We Stop The Fascists’ to grief, which is a prominent theme throughout this final Anna Mann show. My own personal experiences of grief, and how we learn to deal with it, have hugely influenced the story, themes, and comedy of this new show”

Hoult presents a hilarious meditation on life, death and literally everything in between, as Anna would describe it “it will be visceral, real, and achingly brave”. You will leave screaming “f*** off I love it!”.
